I wouldn't complain if we established a permanent base in Iraq as we have in Germany and Japan. It would give us an established presence in the region that we have not had since the Turks nationalized our bases in Turkey. And it would give President Ahm-a-doofy-jerk of Iran a permanent case of heartburn - no small accomplishment. It would, in my opinion, serve as a stabilizing presence in the region, as well. But what am I thinking? We just elected the Obamesiah to guide us into the future of bright shining promise of "change" - and one of his promised changes is to bring ALL American troops home ASAP. So much for that possibilty of strength and influence!
