However, they're not, and you should not expect anything remotely resembling sense from most Democrats: 1) While a leftist meme usually begins as a cynical ploy nobody genuinely believes, it quickly becomes an article of faith on the left, and unquestionable. It would take more than a question mark to stop them from acting out on what most of them have decided is a medal of honor displaying their moral superiority; by now, for many, their entire self-image is wrapped up in saving the planet. 2) Those few cynics who still recognize that it was all a game to gain power, are not about to relinquish the power now that it's being handed to them. Expect a very, very hard fight just to allow the doubters a voice. It would be nice if they were actually concerned about the science.
