Well, ok, you actually can’t. The latest UN sponsored conference on global warming is currently underway in Poznan, Poland. They expected 8,000 attendees and projected the conference would generate 13,000 tons of carbon. Except they actually have some 10,657 people now registered for the event. Which translates to something more like 17,000+ tons of carbon.
Staging a global forum on climate change is a dilemma, as it adds to the very problem it is trying to solve.
Around 13,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) will be added to the Earth’s greenhouse effect from the December 1-12 meeting of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the UNFCCC said.
That estimate is based on a turnout of 8,000 people, but as of Sunday 10,657 people had registered for the talks.
Poland, which is hosting the meeting, “plans to offset the total emissions resulting from the conference once a final calculation has been made,” the UNFCCC said.
Well, thank heavens the government is planning on offsetting, no? I mean, the world needs more human hamster wheels.
Best of all? The huge vomiting of greenhouse gasses in search of a cure for greenhouse gasses appears to have had a huge impact on the climate in Poznan, Poland. It is currently 6 degrees C there with an overnight low of -1 degrees – with ice expected. And the forecast is calling for declining temperatures throughout the entire conference with ice, snow and sleet. (Forecast via Accuweather.)
They’ll be burning even more carbon trying to keep warm.

You would think they would have the sense to hold these global warming conferences in warmer, if not hot, weather. Don’t they realize how foolish they look talking about global warming while the temps hover around freezing?
Not to mention the inconvenient truth that our naturally changeable climate is currently in a cooling phase of global cooling.
