Confusion

Michael Goodwin has a devastating column out today. Devastating for the Obama administration, that is.

Not long ago, after a string of especially bad days for the Obama administration, a veteran Democratic pol approached me with a pained look on his face and asked, “Do you think they know what they’re doing?”

The question caught me off guard because the man is a well-known Obama supporter. As we talked, I quickly realized his asking suggested his own considerable doubts.

Yes, it’s early, but an eerily familiar feeling is spreading across party lines and seeping into the national conversation. It’s a nagging doubt about the competency of the White House.

The killer here is in the last paragraphs of a long, for Goodwin, column.

The beat goes on. Last week, Obama brazenly gave a speech about earmark reform just after he quietly signed a $410 billion spending bill that had about 9,000 earmarks in it. He denounced Bush’s habit of disregarding pieces of laws he didn’t like, so-called signing statements, then issued one himself.

And in an absolute jaw-dropper, he told business leaders, “I don’t like the idea of spending more government money, nor am I interested in expanding government’s role.”

People are growing tired of the double-speak. The grand rhetoric is wearing more than a bit thin. Folks are beginning to pay attention to the huge mismatch between the finely-crafted speeches, exquisitely delivered and the actual behavior of both the Pinball Wizard and his staff.

I think they are not liking what they see. The words do not match the deeds, in any way.

A lot of voters chose Obama because he, supposedly, represented “change”. It appears that they are now realizing that the “change” being offered is not exactly what they had in mind.

This explains the desperate attempt by the White House to organize supporters to block for the administration.

UPDATE: Here’s that hope Obama promised!

Once again, this makes me want to scream at Obama voters “WE TRIED TO TELL YOU!!” (Although, if I remember right, Goodwin was a Hillary backer and always a bit wary of The One.)

We used to call it having your head up your ***.
And folks, that is what it is. The obambozo and company probably couldn’t figure out how to pour **** from a boot with the directions on the heel.

    Edit: Warning on language.

I don’t recall, at any time in my lifetime, any other politician who was so brazen about telling outright lies to the American people and yet he is still getting away with it. Even Slick Willie didn’t lie as blatantly as this guy. Yet, for the Obamaniacs he can do no wrong. It’s like he has hypnotized a large portion of America and they can’t wake up. Mockingbird is exactly right in his analogy. The Obamessiah says one thing and does the complete opposite and his worshipers in the public and the media are blind to his actions and hang on his words. Even Hitler didn’t have this kind of power over the masses. It’s frightening.

I think you are quite right about the lying, martian. Jimmy Carter is going to look very competent when History compares him to Obama.
