The head of the American Legion tried to talk to Barack Obama about the administration’s plans to wound veterans who have sacrificed for this nation all over again. Obama wouldn’t listen. Maybe Americans will.
The leader of the nation’s largest veterans organization says he is “deeply disappointed and concerned” after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.
“It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan,” said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. “He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.”
We have a moral obligation to take care of those wounded in service to this country. Period. Obama’s plan would make it impossible for wounded vets to ever get private insurance. Hell, it would make it impossible for the vets in question to even get jobs. Here’s the full text from the American Legion.
I’m disgusted by this latest ploy by Obama. So are others (via Memeorandum).

Any member of Congress who votes for this abomination should be run out of office. Spread the word.

I am waiting for Senators John McCain, John Kerry and US Rep John Murtha to make a clear statement against the Scumbag-in-Chief’s proposal.
yo great the three blind mice
This is probably the most outrageous stunt Obama has tried to pull yet. Hard to believe that even the dems in Congress would let things go this far. Obama hopes to raise 540 million this way. Meanwhile he plans to send 900 million to Hamas in Gaza. Anyone see a place where we could save that $540 million?
