Your Tax Dollars At Work

Forget the sheer stupidity of the White House ordering a backup Air Force One to buzz Manhattan. Forget the delayed but “furious” response by Obama. Look instead at what this little fiasco cost. More than $60,000 an hour just for the big airplane involved – even more when the two F-16 fighters are factored in.

For a photo op that even the FAA knew – with certainty – would cause a panic.

CBS 2 HD has discovered the feds will have plenty to question.

Federal officials knew that sending two fighter jets and Air Force One to buzz ground zero and Lady Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public.

In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration’s James Johnston said the agency was aware of “the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes” in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor’s office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.

The Best and the Brightest. A gift that just keeps giving to America. Or costing America if you are paying attention. Every, single dime of the cost of that little jaunt was money taken from American taxpayers – so the White House could have pretty postcards that could have been created with about of $100 (or much less) worth of photo editing software.

My prediction: Louis Caldera will very soon “decide” he needs to spend more time with his family and “resign.” (As I wrote last night.

But Obama, if he was smart rather than clever, would have publicly fired Caldera on the spot after learning of the monumental stupidity. Now he simply looks like he is covering his tail.

Meanwhile, taxpayers are out some amount of money north of $100,000 – for postcards (that will never see the light of day, mind you).

    …, no, no.
Caldera will become the Czar of the White House Vegetable Garden.
    Clearly a move up.
Primate 1 is incapable of doing a thing.
Let alone firing one of his clown car ‘administration’ bozo’s.
With massive apologies to working clowns.

Technicality: It is only Air Force One when the CinC is onboard. Since his holiness was in DC spouting off about something or other, it would be identifed by it’s tail number. I believe that would be 86-28000 and 86-29000 on the two VC-25As that are the primary presidential aircraft.
That being done, we have an indivdual in a White House staff office reserved for Flag/General Officers in the past who is a civilian. There are things that low-life, side-stepping beach creatures should not do or be involved in. Louis Caldera may have done a hitch and been SecArmy I believe but he has been a civilian for a long time and has lost track of accountability and responsibility. Well desired officer traits, don’t you think? Basically, it comes down to the White House chain of command falling on it’s collective can. Guess who is number one in the chain of command? But, getting rid of Louis Caldera would be an appropriated response. He gave the orders and it caused many New Yorkers fear and panic. He should be relieved, summarily. To heck with the “more time with family” get out card. If Obambozo had any sand, he would send this guy packing. Is that not wishful thinking on my part?(LOL)

Oh, the postcards will see the light of day, just not publicly. They will go to the friends, family, and cronies of the Administration that ordered it.

I keep seeing this buzz job called a “photo-op” but where was the plane holding the photographers? Or did the F-16 drivers have Instamatics?
