As I predicted, photographs of the White House ordered “photo op” of one of the presidential aircraft overflying Manhattan (accompanied by two F-16′s) are being suppressed by the White House. Despite a price tag of more than $300,000 of taxpayer money, the pictures – if there actually are any – will never be seen by the people who paid for them.
The $328,835 snapshots of an Air Force One backup plane buzzing lower Manhattan last week will not be shown to the public, the White House said yesterday.
“We have no plans to release them,” an aide to President Obama told The Post, refusing to comment further.
The sole purpose of the secret photo-op, which sent thousands of New Yorkers running for cover, was to take new publicity shots of the presidential jet over the city.
“The photos . . . are classified — that’s ridiculous,” Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., said.
The photos have not technically been “classified,” a White House aide said, but they are being kept from public view.
New Yorkers said they could not understand how a president who shares intimate snapshots from the White House could justify keeping these secret.
This is the behavior of the super-wonderful, open Obama administration? This is the new era of open government?
This is the change you can believe in?
No, a picture is rapidly emerging of a secretive, thuggish administration that simply disobeys any laws that get in its way. That frightens people for political purposes. That over-reacts in a delayed fashion and that is blindly stupid – or blatantly childish – in many, many things.
A lot of people don’t really want to hear this right now. They are still enthralled by the mythical quality of the Messiah.
But, I think, the day is getting closer when even the apologists and the willfully blind will have the scales fall from their eyes.
One hopes it is soon, before the damage is too great.
Your last sentence sums up what most Australians are now waking up to with Rudd. Who craves to be a mini-obama.
The problem is that even if the Obamessiah worshipers and disciples wake up, we’re stuck with him for another 3 years, 8 months unless he commits an impeachable offense and even then he’s protected by his soon to be super majority in Congress. The anount of damage he and his henchmen can do in that amount of time is incalculable.
wishful thinking….they cannot afford to see him for what he is. Look at the congress we have elected and they get a pass, obama gets a pass (and he was a member of that congress). The dems have been in charge of our purse strings since the 2006 election (read the Constitution), and we have this mess. The voters do not seem to understand there are consequences to their vote and we are living them right now.
