The Emperor Has No Clue, Part The Second
So, the grand plans of the Obama White House begin to sound desperate. Obama himself has come out vowing to spend even more money, even faster to turn the economy around. Problem is, the money he has already glad handed away hasn’t helped at all, despite the claims.
President Barack Obama said on Monday accelerated stimulus spending would create or save 600,000 jobs over the next 100 days, pledging action to slow the growth of unemployment that has reached a 25-year high….
…The White House estimates the $787 billion Recovery and Reinvestment Act that Democrats pushed through Congress with little Republican support will create or save 3 million to 4 million jobs by early 2011.
They said on Monday it created or saved 150,000 in the first 100 days. Republicans questioned the figure and noted that Biden said on May 13 over 150,000 jobs had been saved or created in the act’s first 77 days.
Here’s a simple request for the claims by the White House and Democrats that 150,000 jobs have been saved: Name them. Prove the jobs have actually been saved through the pouring of our tax money upon them.
Even if, somehow, they manage to name names, so to speak, then demonstrate how the saving of 150,000 jobs when 2,900,000 jobs have been lost this year alone is a wise expenditure of nearly $800,000,000,000 dollars. (Yes, I know that not all of the funds have been expended yet, but the point is a valid one.) Let’s see, the back of the envelope calculation shows that something like 5% of the total potential job losses were “saved” by the stimulus. If all of the dollars in the stimulus had been spent to save those jobs it would have cost a mere $5.33 million for each job.
GREAT work if you can get it. The rest of you, tough luck.
Complete administration fiction about the benefits of the massive Obama “stimulus” aside, I’d really like them to explain why unemployment right now is higher than the White House projections claimed they would be without any stimulus bill at all. That’s the real story here.
That’s why Obama is trying to tout even more spending, even more quickly. He’s got a tiger by the tail, he knows it.
And he has no idea how to let go without getting savaged. Which has always been the problem with catching a tiger by the tail.

What do we expect. For those who remember Dan Quayle, the Democrats took savage pleasure deriding him as a political lightweight. Dan Quayle looks like an elder statesman in comparison to who the Democrats put into office. If we, the public, are learning anything, it is that there is no better recommendation for a candidate than the Democrats derision and misogyny.

Well, WE unemployed could all insist that ACORN hire us immediately, or we won’t leave their offices!

They pull these figures out of thin air and no one in the MSM calls them on it. I guarantee you if it was Bush saying something like that, they’d be screaming for proof and calling him a liar loudly and often. The Obamessiah’s worshipers basically don’t care whether the numbers are fact or fiction as long as the SOUND good coming from Obama or his team.
