Wow. Who Knew?
I always thought the television network ABC was the “American Broadcasting Company”. I had no idea it really meant the “All Barack Channel”. It seems ABC is going to televise there news next Wednesday from the White House. A prime time sales pitch for Barack Obama’s side of his plan.
On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care — a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!
Highlights on the agenda:
ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.
The network plans a primetime special — ‘Prescription for America’ — originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.
The Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006.
They are apparently calling this a “debate”. But when only one side is presented, it is not a debate, it is a lecture. Or worse, propaganda.
This is also some very, very expensive free airtime for Obama. ABC is giving away the air time – and its credibility as a news organization.
Sigh. Not that they really had much left at this point. But still, there is an important line that has been crossed here.
Normally, one would expect to hear other media outlets howling right now about this blatant partisanship (masking their whining that they did not get the exclusive access.) But I am not really seeing that over at Memeorandum.
They are not even trying to disguise that they are completely in Obama’s pocket anymore. That’s more than a bit worrisome.

woe is our current political scene. two parties fighting always to give the illusion of a democracy. there are not just 2 kinds of Americans and by my estimates there should be between 8 & 16 to allow true democracy to florish & evolve. problems with just 2 parties? behind closed door, the absence of term limits creates malfeseances.
this abcnews things is about Obamas views, not either party. it’s his house and he gets to do what he wants to in there; just look at bush-he ruined the entire global economy and orchestrated the greatest transfer of wealth in history in that house…plus declared a war to benefit donors & friends…and brought legalized torture as a “bonus”.
the dems are barely better than the repubs…only the repubs need to be disbanded to make way for the other parties.
as the depression evolves…this could happen as both parties have no real ethics, morals or integrity.
