Cornyn Calls Obama Out On Fishy Links

Senator John Cornyn has written a letter to Barack Obama about Obama’s call for fishy links to be reported to the White House:

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) is worried that the White House will use a new media outreach program to collect the personal data of its political opponents.

Yesterday, the White House asked supporters to forward “fishy” claims or rumors about the President’s healthcare plan to a White House email address as a way to respond to “disinformation.”

The letter is a beautiful thing

“I am not aware of any precedent for a President asking American citizens to report their fellow citizens to the White House for pure speech that is deemed ‘fishy’ or otherwise inimical to the White House’s political interests.”

The entire program appears to be illegal under American law and the Obamunists would do well to immediately rescind their call for informants. Anyone who’s personal information is collected by the White House should bring legal action against them for it.

And again, many, many thanks to the folks who linked my original post on this authoritarian obamination.

Send an email with the PDF of the bill to them. Have everybody that objects do the same thing. Everyday.

Btw, just used an adaptation of one of your old posts about Naomi Wolf’s Fascist America in 10 Easy steps.

    Hope you see some linkage.

Here’s how to automatically send a growing daily stream of junk email to flag@whitehouse.gov:

    1. Set up a special gmail account (mail.google.com) just for this purpose.

    2. Under “Settings->Forwarding and POP/IMAP”, select “Forward a copy of incoming mail to”, then fill in flag@whitehouse.gov

    3. Then sign up for a bunch of free, email-generating web services (eg. GoogleAlerts) using the gmail account.

    4. Tell your friends how they too can fight against intimidation and abuse of power.

Hit back ten times as hard. Every day.

I can’t endorse that method, Robofish. I have to battle spam every day on this blog and am not a big fan of it.
