I’m calling Bull sh__ on this claim by a Democrat from North Carolina. Brad Miller from North Carolina is making media claims that he is canceling all of his town hall meetings – which he had none scheduled – because of supposed death threats.

“We had no town hall events scheduled for the August recess anyway, but in light of everything that’s happened — we have received a threatening phone call in the D.C. office, there have been calls to the Raleigh office,” said Miller communications director LuAnn Canipe, in an interview with TPM. The threatening call in question happened earlier this week.”

First of all – he had no town hall meetings scheduled – so what, exactly, is he canceling? Let’s face it, Propaganda Points Memo is not exactly a trustworthy source for anything resembling truth, but in this case, the claim is so egregious that it begs for confirmation.

Either produce a police report or stuff your report. This event, according to the report, was reported to the Capitol Police. Produce the report.

A congressman who had no plans to hold town hall meetings excitedly reporting that he is canceling all of his nonexistent town hall meetings stinks out loud of publicity stunt. Produce the report.

Or else you are a fraud. No middle ground here.

  1. I called B.S. earlier as well. No sources except a staffer. No Capitol Police report … nothing.

Claims of nazi symbols at protests, claims of death threats, claims of bused protesters, etc. Yep, the demonrats are on the run. And I say good! Couldn’t happen to a crappier bunch of aristocratic politicians.

  3. Miller is actually my local congress critter for NC-13, and he NEVER has meetings with constituents.

I have a request in to the Capital Police to see if a claim was made.

  4. The thing you need to know about Miller is that he created the District when he was in the State Senate. Unless a credible African-American candidate, unlike Vernon Robinson, comes along he’s secure.

Someone probably threatened not to vote for him if he votes for this stuff.

I called Brad Miller’s office THE DAY BEFORE this supposedly happened. The person I spoke with was CLUELESS about town hall meetings – I might have been asking when will Brad Miller hold a bakesale? So this is UTTER BS. He never had any intention of holding a town hall. How can we get the police report?
