The Politico Channels Joe Biden

Actually, I wish I was making this up. From Politico:

Czars are not a new part of White House life: President Lyndon B. Johnson tasked a series of White House advisers to handle various aspects of World War II in the early 1940s. Conservative William Bennett was President George H. W. Bush’s first drug czar, appointed in 1989.

But the number of czars in the Obama administration, say historians, is unprecedented.

“There just seems to be a few more in the Obama administration,” said University of Vermont professor John Burke, an authority on presidential transitions. “And they are using them particularly as a vehicle for their early policy initiatives.”

There’s a bailout czar, a technology czar, a climate czar, an urban czar, and a health care czar. The pay czar is evaluating compensation packages for investment banks. The border czar is working to curb the violence and drug trafficking on the U.S.-Mexico border. The WMD czar is working on non-proliferation issues. The Great Lakes czar is overseeing clean up of the lakes. (Emphasis added)

Yes, the really “printed” that (using recycled pixels, one presumes). I captured it:

czar

The Politico piece accuses Republicans of using Van “Troofer Trash Marxist” Jones as an excuse to attack the more than 30 “Czars” Obama has directly appointed without benefit of Senate hearings on the appointments.

Gee, I guess Politico has its constitutional facts as straight as they have their history.

We do not have “Czars” in the United States. We elect our government and expect the elected ones to honor the constitution. I really don’t care if other administrations have used “Czars” – regardless of party. I want this practice stopped. Either the President gets his direct appointees confirmed by the Senate – as the Constitution requires – or he does not appoint them.

Period.

Meanwhile, in the alternate Politico universe one wonders what other history is being rewritten. Does Joe Biden lead the charge up San Juan Hill? Hey! It’s a Roosevelt, it could happen.

Yeah, FDR and Vietnam, oops, LBJ & World War II…. The level of moonbattery among the leftoid agitpreppies is astounding. Biden started it all with the famous TV speeches FDR gave to keep “fear itself” away from the door. Joe is stupendously stupid, but the important point for us patriots is to remember than clowns like Van Jones are simply the camel’s nose under the tent. It is brainy czars like Sunstein who are working tirelessly to overthrow the rule of law with a reversion to <i.ukases by czars. and their evil counsellors.

    Yeah, right.

Get down on your knees and thank God they’re that incompetent. If they can mess it up this badly as it is, what could they do if they found a place to buy a clue?

LBJ, I mean, FDR had dictators.

And of all the czars/advisers, Sunstein freaks me out the most. Van Jones was a racist nutcase, but Sunstein believes the government should guide you in your decision making, like parents do to their children. It’s that kind of invisible Socialist hand, that makes him more sinister to me.

The increase in czars/advisers proves something I already knew, Obama needs to farm out his responsibilities in order to do any job. His main focus is being the well liked guy; he has no interest in doing actual work. Considering that everyone over 18 came out of high school, you think they would recognize the same type of juvenile politics playing out in front of them.

I think they meant Senator Lyndon Johnson, but used the presidential title. Clumsily worded, just like everything else progressives do.

  5. RebeccaH says:

Oops, my bad. Johnson was a Senator until after WWII, but he was in the House of Representatives. Even so, the statement makes no sense.
