This is a major problem for Obama. 10,000 people showed up at the Tea Party Express rally in New Lenox/Joliet. These are just average folks, not mobs hired and brought in by bus.
Breaking news from New Lenox/Joliet… the sheriff’s office is reporting to us that the crowd estimate for the rally here is 10,000+ and they are shutting down a portion of Interstate 80 for traffic control do to the massive influx of people.
This is in Obama’s home state.

And there’s the difference: ObamaCare supporters mostly have to be “organized” – paid for and bussed in. The tea-party folks are mostly self-motivated, and that could well translate into votes in 2010 and 2012.
The so-called Progressives are right to worry.
Phineas is absolutely right. We pay our own way, we buy the supplies to make our own signs, and we aren’t funded by anybody! The state-run media refuses to even discuss these aspects.
My family and I are off to D.C. on Wednesday where, I guarantee you, we will see thousands if not 10′s of thousands of folks just like us who paid their own way and made all their own stuff. THIS is the real America.

But what happens in Joliet doesn’t matter because Chicago has enough votes to carry the state in Presidential and Senatorial elections. And the Democrat machine “owns” Chicago.
The rest of Illinois combined can’t defeat the Chicago metro area.
All the votes on the world won’t matter, Gaius, if ACORN is not dealt with. I’m hoping you have an idea how difficult that might be. The word purge comes to mind.
