Let’s assume, due to the uncertainty involved in crowd counting, that only half of the two million people ABC is reporting at the 9/12 rally in Washington actually were there.
That is still at least one million, very unhappy voters converging on Congress and letting them know that they are being watched.
12:34pm Eastern: Police estimate 1.2 million in attendance. ABC News reporting crowd at 2 million.
Teeny, tiny fringe, huh?
This is a disaster for Obama and the Democrats. Most of the media (ABC aside) is dutifully reporting that “tens of thousands” showed up. But you only have to look at one picture to know the million lies they are telling with their lowball reporting.
Nice to see the reporting take the media down even further as well as the turnout give a very, very stark warning to Congress. If these people keep up the pressure – and get voters registered and involved, Congress is in serious trouble.
We need to translate this action into a political ground game. That is where the real difference will be made. That is exactly what the Democrats (and not a few Republicans) are terrified of.
I wish I could have been there. There is still time to make this a real power before next November.
There is already enough here to make the politicians tremble.
UPDATE: Next post is very highly related to this one.
