Spin, Whitewash, Spin, Repeat – Part The Second

The LA Times sort of reports on the ACORN scandal – while completely – and I mean completely – erasing the California connection to the trail of slime that ACORN has left behind.

In the latest controversy, ACORN workers in several cities, including New York, Baltimore and Washington, were secretly videotaped giving advice to two conservative activists who posed as a prostitute and her pimp and said that they wanted to buy a house and run it as a brothel with teenage girls.

Leaving out completely the videos from San Bernardino and San Diego, California. Leaving out the inconvenient detail that the “pimp” and “prostitute” were planning to staff their brothel with under-aged teenagers imported illegally from El Salvador. In fact, the Times cheerfully quotes the California head organizer for ACORN speaking about how wonderfully resilient ACORN will be  – despite having two of their twelve California offices snagged – so far.

Amy Schur, ACORN’s head organizer for California, acknowledged that the organization has had a tough year, but said that the state’s 12 offices would survive.

Membership is up, and funding has been stable, she said.

“Our organization is under attack,” she said. “But we’re going to come out of this just fine.”

(The nature of the videos lends a whole new meaning to the term “head organizer”, but we digress.)  Frankly, this is journalistic malpractice on the part of the LA Times. They should have asked Ms. Schur about the offices she is in charge of and their involvement in the videos. They should have reported the California connection to the mess. Instead, their readers are left with a false impression that everything is great with ACORN in California.

Sleazy protection of sleazy behavior.

Stay classy, LA Times.

Yes, but that is the LA Times, my hometown newspaper. I’m surprised they reported it at all.

I caught Mr.Breitbart on FoxNews. He has them by the stacking swivel.

I wonder how the acorn employees at the #s 4&5 offices felt when they saw offices #1,2 and 3 exposed on Fox.
Hadda be some measurable perspiration there, eh?
