Gordon Brown’s Royal Rowboat Navy

The Daily Mail:

Gordon Brown’s proposal to cut Britain’s Trident nuclear missile submarine fleet from four to three was unravelling last night.

Military experts and senior Labour figures dismissed the plan as unworkable and accused him of political posturing.

John Hutton, who stepped down as Defence Secretary three months ago, warned that no navy had ever managed to maintain a constant nuclear deterrent with fewer than four submarines.

…..

Dr Lee Willett, Head of Maritime Studies at the Royal United Services Institute, said: ‘You either have a minimum of four missile submarines, or you take the decision to stop being a nuclear power at all.

Nelson must be at about 25,000 rpm right about now. Have you seen any – I mean any at all - signs from Russia, China or any other nuclear powers (other than the US under Obama) that they were willing to unilaterally disarm?

There is a reason for that. The disarmament movement exists in the West – nowhere else.

Somebody really needs to get this through the Chosen One’s head. He promised to disarm unilaterally way back during the primaries. I haven’t seen him actually do it yet but he has scrapped the missile defense shield in eastern Europe and pissed of two more of our allies so I don’t find it hard to believe that he would still dump our nuclear arsenal, as well.

At least the Brits won’t have to put up with the buffoon Brown much longer. Elections are coming in what? May next year? And he will surely be history by then, if not sooner. Notice the lack of respect he received while he was in NYC? As for Nelson…yeah. Ditto for Jackie Fischer, Jellicoe, Tovey and the rest. I am thinking they would be appalled at the state of the Royal Navy today.
