Pay no attention to that man behind the diversion curtain. There must be an emergency!
President Obama has declared the swine flu outbreak a national emergency, allowing hospitals and local governments to speedily set up alternate sites and procedures if needed to handle any surge of patients, the White House said on Saturday.
The declaration came as long lines formed around the country for the swine flu vaccine, with distribution that has not met demand.
Flu activity — virtually all of it the swine flu — is now widespread in 46 states, a level that federal officials say equals the peak of a typical winter flu season. Millions of people in the United States have had swine flu, known as H1N1, either in the first wave in the spring or the current wave.
Although no one has an exact count of the flu’s mortality, Dr. Thomas R. Frieden of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday that it had killed more than 1,000 Americans and hospitalized over 20,000.
The average, normal flu season kills something like a quarter of a million people worldwide.
But our very own King Canute President will hold back the tide of H1N1 by a mere declaration. God, he’s good!
Too bad the gang who couldn’t shoot straight doesn’t understand the Canute story.
Hold back that tide, Barry. Even if it is in your own mind.

Afghani-huh?
Manufactured crisis is the mother’s milk of the Cloward-Piven Strategy. It’s their opportunity to undermine the US economy. Like Emanuel said, “don’t let a crisis go to waste.”
PS: You can’t understand Obama, or Democrat Party policies without a working knowledge of Cloward-Piven. Type it into your search engine, you’ll catch on rather quickly, about 5 to 10 minutes.
I don’t believe the Swine Flu is a ‘National Emergency’, and I only think this will draw more panic among the public.
Seems more like a distraction to keep attention from all the other problems that don’t seem to be on their way to being fixed anytime soon.
