Nancy Pelosi passed her bill last night. A government takeover of a huge chunk of the economy and an unreal intrusion into the private lives of American citizens. This bill will have Washington bureaucrats – themselves exempt from the “benefits” of ObamaCare – dictating to the public what they may have in the way of health care. It will allow Washington to comb through your personal records, your bank accounts and every facet of your lives.
It will take away the insurance many of you are happy with very, very soon and substitute what they think is good enough for you. The plan will crush liberty, destroy choice and come between you and your doctor.
The so-called benefits will not even kick in for years but the tax increases will start immediately. That’s the only way the Democrats could game this bill to appear less costly than it will really be. For you can be absolutely sure it will cost far more than what they say it will. That’s also the only way they could insulate Obama from the backlash that will come when the true cost – and inferior benefits – kick in.
The very fate of liberty in this nation now rests with 100 Senators. We can still stop this. Start calling now. Keep calling. Write, fax, call. and keep doing so. Make sure they know you want this monstrosity stopped.

You see this yet? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8351409.stm . In UK they’re going to allow patients the right to private healthcare if/when the public system fails. So if I understand correctly, the UK realizes that public healthcare fails and private is the solution, and yet we’re trying to go public. I just don’t get it… How do people think this is a good idea…
