Take the iconic “I Love New York” poster and plunge a dagger into its heart. That’s what the Obama administration is doing by bringing the mastermind of 9/11 and other terror freaks here for trial.
We don’t deserve this. Why are we being punished again?
Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to ship Khalid Sheik Mohammed and four other Guantanamo Bay prisoners to Manhattan for federal trials is beyond bad judgment.
It is a radical call that puts his leftist legal theories over public safety and common sense. The war on terror is being relabeled as a crime problem, in the very shadow of Ground Zero.
These particular “criminals” are actually illegal enemy combatants, not subject to criminal courts in the US or anywhere else on the planet. Goodwin wonders where New York’s Senators were when all this was decided by Obama – and it was decided by Obama, not Holder acting alone.
And where is our congressional team, especially Senators Chuck Schumer and his amanuensis, Kirsten Gillibrand? Oh, I forgot, out fighting for banking rules that will hamstring Wall Street and for a health-care plan that will wreck city and state budgets, hospitals and insurance companies.
So New York will get to host the leftist show trial – which will not be a trial of the suspects, but a showcase for their radical agenda. New York will get the blame, however. And they will become an even bigger target for the jihadis as a result. Goodwin has every reason to be worried, as do all sane New Yorkers.
Obama, through his munchkin Holder, has made a disastrous decision for New York City. And for America.
Does anyone actually believe Eric Holder decided on his own to bring the terrorists to NY City, or is a decision of that magnitude way above his pay grade?
If so, why the obvious lie?
To be honest: New York deserves the blame. One would think that New Yorkers of all people! – would have learned their lesson after 9/11. They didn’t. They voted for Schumer and Clinton for their Senators, and Spitzer as Governor. They voted for Kerry and Obama to be President. They will elect Gillibrand and Cuomo to be Senator and Governor, respectively. All of this of their own free will.
Gaius, there is such a thing as getting exactly the government you deserve. Now it’s New York’s turn.
Disaster? The fact that Colleges and Universities voted Obama into power, this is the real disaster.
If higher education is producing this many idiots then Jihad is not America’s greatest problem.
This all could have been handled quietly at Gitmo. Now its gonna be a huge circus, KSM will be a martyr and all the terrorists will be inspired to attack us any way they can.
I expect as the trial commences, the prosecution and the defense will announce a stipulation, that everything that happened and all consequences that flowed therefrom, was George Bush’s fault.
One of modern society’s most enduring myths is the idea that liberalism represents some exponential leap in intelligence. Endlessly we are told that Barack Obama is a highly intelligent President – the most intelligent President since, well, the last time a Democrat sat in the White House.
Liberals are on the whole very highly educated. Which is not repeat not repeat once again not repeat one more time not the same thing as being intelligent.
Barack Obama is in fact one of the dumbest individuals to hold public office. Anyone who believes in government-run medicine or the benefits of centralized bureaucratic planning (for example) is on the same intellectual level as someone who holds to the theory that the earth is really flat, or that the KKK merely represents the interests of working-class whites, or that a world-wide conspiracy of Jews is behind all major historical events. To hold to any of these beliefs – in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary – requires a seriously stunted intellect. Obama and his supporters fit that description perfectly.
