Fraud Busted?

Could very well be. If these files turn out to be genuine, Global Warming advocates have a lot – a real lot – of ’splaining to do. Hacked files from CRU appear to indicate that a very broad conspiracy exists to falsify “global warming” data.

Once Tim’s got a diagram here we’ll send that either later today or
first thing tomorrow.
I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps
to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from
1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline. Mike’s series got the annual
land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land
N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999
for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 with
data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.

Always a bad sign when data is being manipulated by using tricks to hide evidence. There is a lot more – and much of it is rather ugly.

    Let me guess. CBS and the NY Times will acknowledge the data is fake but claim it’s an accurate indication that global warming, or climate change, (saves on letterhead stationary) is not only real, but is caused by rich Republicans.

    Oil Can Harry Reid will introduce legislation designed to eliminate tax breaks for the richest Republicans among us who are destroying the reputations of crooked climate investigators, and who smoke cigarettes when no one is looking, and probably kick little dogs too.

    Dan Rather will lecture us on integrity and courage. Then sue CBS because Republicans are laughing at him.

    Al Gore will announce a new UN-Stimulus Plan to save polar bears from over population. He’s going to make them take cold hip baths.

    The UN will double our required contribution to the International Climate Information Fast Shuffle Research Center and Kool-Aid Refreshment Stand, and demand we pass ‘Cap and Trade’ before the end of the year, or they’ll refuse to pay their parking tickets again.

    Global warming, ha! Tell me what the weather will be like this day next month, no way! It will be a cold winter this year a very cold winter because my cats fur is thicker than it was last November. Now thats a prediction you can believe. Just saw this article earlier on another blog and I suspect its true. Will it make any difference in this great debate—I don’t know it should, but then it will get very little if any play in the MSM.     Some feeble minded thoughts: One wonders if this was an inside job? I am thinking Russian hackers have no agenda other than lining their own pockets. The reactions of the people at CRU add credibility to the documents, calling it criminal, canceling passwords and such. BTW,is it a criminal offense to take grant money and dry lab the results? Would that be fraud? If this turns out to be true, some people’s positions should be terminated at the very least. Will this derail the AGW Express? I doubt it. I doubt this will bother the True Believers, and the politicians are already drooling over the potential tax revenue from carbon/green taxes.
