One rather suspects that the Secret Service is collectively very, very upset at the moment. As they should be.

A White House official, informed of Bravo’s statement, said that was not the case. “We’ve already confirmed that they weren’t invited,” he said.

A publicist for the couple, Mahogany Jones, said they would not comment formally for now.

“Their counsel, Paul W. Gardner Esq. states emphatically that the Salahis’ did not ‘crash’ this event,” the statement said. “We look forward to setting the record straight very soon.”

Mr. Gardner, an entertainment lawyer, did not respond to a message left at his Baltimore office, which was closed for the holiday.

The Secret Service — which one Homeland Security official described as “completely embarrassed” by the incident — has begun an investigation into how the pair managed to get through multiple layers of high-level security to crash the affair, where they managed to rub shoulders, literally, with Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and the White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, among others. Edwin Donovan, a spokesman for the Secret Service who spent his Thanksgiving Day fending off phone calls from reporters, said the investigation was continuing, but would not discuss it in detail.

This is very, very bad, That these two managed to get past what should be the tightest security in the world is more than a bit embarrassing for the Secret Service.

Not that the Obama presidency itself does not have the air of a very bad reality show about it.

Remember folks, December offers us the delicacies of Obama traveling to Copenhagen to fight “global warming” with the ice cold breeze of Climate-quiddck blowing heartily down his and our necks. So he can go there, and either pretend that something major that now virtually everyone knows about has not happened, AND..we get to watch the media further bury themselves by AGAIN refusing to talk about a big story that everyone already knows about….. or he can address it, repudiating a huge swath of his campaign stance, and thus causing an earthquake in the global whoring community and amongst his base. (The latter won’t happen, he has nowhere near the balls.)

Then, it’s on to Stockholm, where he gets to try to explain to us and the world what in hell he has remotely done to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. (Sorry, the NoBush Peace Prize.) That should be an interesting speech.

Ya think his polls here at home are gonna suddenly reverse themselves and soar to the skies in the aftermath of that??

And that’s just the first half of the month. I haven’t even mentioned him now smothering Christmas with his ego.

It is strangley compelling, in a sick sorta way.

From what the local news is reporting, they brazened their way past the guest list check (apparently it’s only checked once), but other than that there was no breech of security. However, you can bet the folks on that checkpoint are going to be assigned other duties in the future.

Has anyone thought that perhaps the Secret Service just doesn’t want to be doing what they have to do enough to actually do their job?

I know if I was a SS Agent I would have made it a point to “fail” already.

Just throwing it out there. Although I suspect the SS men are a highly trained group of men [and women?] full of integrity so it is likely not a possibility, but…

Seems like I read somewhere before the election that a group of SS men were going to quit if bho got elected. If I had any idea where I saw that I would post the linke.

Amid fears Obama might be assassinated, Ann Coulter quipped that if anyone shot Obama it would be a liberal. Liberals didn’t like hearing that, but then they don’t like much of anything Coulter has to say.

In fact, campus liberals have on multiple occasions tried to prevent her from speaking, or tried to shout her down, even tried to throw a pie in her face.

But, if many more party crashers make it past security at the White House, liberals just might wish they had listened, but just this once.

Obama administration is like a bad reality show—I like that one, but its really more like a nightmare. Too bad the two interlopers didn’t act like PETA and toss red paint on Barack(that would have been the right color).

Why couldn’t it be the livin’ large First Couple laid down the law stating they do not want their peeps hassled with such nonsense as White House security checks? Obie is god, and nobody wants to kill god. (Except radical progressive lefties, to whom Obie owes no allegiance. Right?)

This is starting to smell like the infamous “balloon boy” story. Personally I find the notion that someone could “crash” a White House party completely unbelievable. Why has this not happened before?

It’s pure speculation on my part, but I’ll bet that Michaele and Tareq Salahi were actually invited to the event. However, given the absolute incompetence of the Obama Administration someone forgot to tell someone else, and now the event is being blown out of proportion to save the necks of those who screwed up. I think that the Secret Service is being made the fall guy here by the Obama Administration. You gotta love the leak by the anonymous Homeland Security official about the Secret Service being “completely embarrassed”. Don’t believe for a minute that the Obama Administration spinmeisters are not twirling at warp speed right about now!

Think about it – this is the same bunch that is hip-deep in 9/11 Truthers and folks who cannot be bothered to pay their own taxes. The same bunch that ran up more debt then all other US Presidents combined. The same bunch that cannot cobble together a coherent strategy to achieve victory in Afhganistan. The same bunch that has driven unemployment to nearly 11%. The same bunch is still struggling to fill judicial vacancies and mid-level positions in the various bureaucracies even though they have a 60-vote majority in the Senate and a bevy of “moderate” Republicans who will vote for anything in the name of bipartisanship. The same bunch that never heard of ACORN even though Obama once worked for them.

Which is easier to believe – that the Secret Service is suddenly stuck on stupid after years of flawless service? Or the Obama Administration screwed up again?

  8. Mwalimu Daudi says:

Gaius, that is a possibility I did not consider. But if true it would contradict the Narrative being put forth by the White House and the state-run media of Secret Service incompetence.

A disclosure – I live in a town with a major university that has a Presidential library. My brother is a police officer with nearly 20 years of experience. On occasion we have been visited by sitting/former Presidents for major events. My brother has always been impressed by the thoroughness of the Secret Service, which he has had close dealings with.

The notion that the Secret Service suddenly screwed up to this magnitude in this case is not credible.

  9. Gaius says:

Agreed. It is a rather unpleasant characteristic of far too many on the left to blame the police (in this case the Secret Service).
