Bundle up — again — South Florida.
The National Weather Service on Friday is reporting that “a very strong cold front” is expected to move through the region as early as the afternoon. The cold front will be accompanied by scattered thunderstorms and strong winds.
Temperatures could plunge into to the 30s on Friday night.
I feel your chill, Miami. Of course the high where I live is 15° F. But still, I hope the authorities have issued a falling iguana alert.

It’s so cold here at Lat 30, it’s freezing my Bud Light!
Not so fast there Frosty, it’s 6:30pm Friday evening in SW Florida, the rain passed over us about 4 hours ago, and it’s 63 degrees on my patio.
I’ve heard of raining cats and dogs, but iguanas? Better wear hardhats if you’re in Florida….
Temperature Update for SW Florida:
Last night at midnight it was 55 degrees, and this morning at 7:30am it’s 46. Pressure is up 18 inHg over the last 12 hours.
This is all clear evidence of climate change! We’re doomed, I tell you, DOOMED!
It’s 4pm in SW Florida, temp on my patio is 78 degrees under a sunny and nearly cloudless sky. Humidity is holding at 40% and Pressure is steady at 30.03 inHg.
I’m in my swim suit, sun glasses, and sombrero. The beer is on ice, and this evening I’m going to try my hand at Chicago style deep dish pizza. However, I do expect it will cool off a bit after the sun goes down.
