Cold(er) Shot

Think it’s cold now? It will be getting worse:

Much of the nation got off to a frigid start to the workweek on Monday and below-freezing temperatures will threaten to break records in parts of the South on Tuesday morning.

Hard freeze warnings were scheduled to be in effect Tuesday morning for much of northern Florida and parts of other Gulf Coast states, according to the National Weather Service.

Lows could reach the teens Tuesday morning in parts of Alabama and Mississippi and the mid-20s in parts of Louisiana and northern Florida, according to the weather service. Record lows could be tied or set in those areas as well as parts of southern Georgia and Texas, CNN meteorologist Chad Myers said.

Temperatures could get even colder later in the week, Myers and CNN meteorologist Sean Morris said.

Accuweather is projecting arctic air reaching all the way to Mexico by late in the week. They are also cheerfully pointing out that it is shaping up to be the coldest winter in 25 years over most of the nation.

We had -20° F overnight – and it is supposed to get colder with a strong North wind in the next few days. This air is heading South. Good luck folks. Stay warm.

I demand Al Gore, in his tighty-whities, in my driveway, shovel in-hand (NO snow blowers!) and digging out the snow. It has been shoveled 4x today … and will need another in the morning.

Oh, BTW, Neil Cavuto had on some guy still pushing the global warming drug. Claims this will go down as one of the warmest winters on record, but was sure to point out not on a large scale, but certain spots here and there … Lame.

Each guest after him, on unrelated topics, made sure to jokingly ridicule him off the cuff with their opening greetings to Cavuto.

These people have toilet paper stuck to their backsides in public now and don’t seem to care.

  3. People are dying of the cold in Bangladesh. Tampa has frost warnings. Atlanta has been averaging 20 degrees cooler than average for the past week.

Weather like this hasn’t been seen since the thirties…you know…right before the recent cycles of heavy solar activity.

    Damn that Global Warming!

Seriously, here in North Florida the projected low overnight tonight is 18 degrees. It was in the low 20s last night. The news reports last winter were full of reports of unusually low temperatures and unusually heavy snowfalls all around the globe last winter and it looks like this winter, so far, may be even colder. Yet the Global Warming believers are still stubbornly insisting that the world is getting steadily warmer. It just goes to show thta the human mind is capable of convincing us of just about anything if we are willing.

Where is all this cold air and snow coming from? Certainly NOT the arctic, for it has been told to us by the Goracle the everything is amelt in those latitudes.

Last night it got down to 39 degrees in SW Florida, and the prediction is for even colder weather in the next several days. I’m not sure how much more Global Warming the oranges can take, and my papayas have already stopped ripening on the trees.

The sunpots are declining in number and NASA is prediciting the lowest cycle max (around 2012) since 1913. Lower numbers have historically been accompanied by colder weather .. but per the Gorks actual science obviously has nothing to do with it … so enjoy the warmth down there in FL courtesy of the politicians … it may even get worse!

Here in my corner of Nebraska the windchill had to be close to -40 this afternoon. To top it off I was without power for over four hours. Fortunately they got the juice flowing at dark, but they told me there were still a lot of rural people without power. Frost on the lines. Doesn’t seem like it could be that heavy but it is making the lines really sag in places. Throw in a 35 mph wind and I am sure you know the rest.
