This is interesting in light of the not-entirely-wrong column by David Brooks in the NYT, in which he basically lays out the landscape of a profound disconnect between the “educated elites” of the country (the West?) and “everyone else”.
I’m starting to think that the biggest meta-story of the past year (I will inlcude this month) is that on two of the most far-reaching, universal paradigm issues out there, that of “Global Warming.. oops… Climate Change”, and the sheer wonderfulness of Barack Obama compared to his troglodyte predecessor, those “educated elites” have been massively, profoundly, utterly wrong wrong wrong, and the “rest of us” who are far wiser than those elites will ever care to acknowledge, are waking up to that fact big-time.
This is actually a bit disturbing, as we must ponder just how corrupted our entire educational and scientific establishments have been by the “triumph of the narrative” over actual reality, and what that means and how to fix it.
Meanwhile, I see a great series of bumper stickers:
“Global Warming”….. What ELSE have they lied to us about?’
“Smartest President Ever”….. What ELSE have they lied to us about?’
“The War is Lost”…. What ELSE have they lied to us about?
“2 Million Jobs Created”…. What ELSE have they lied to us about?
