Implosion

Voting is still underway in Massachusetts, but the poo-flinging is already in full swing. The Coakley camp is blaming the national Democrats.

The adviser, who made the case to my colleague Jonathan Martin on the condition of anonymity in response, he said, to “the current leaking coming out of the White House and the DNC that is chalking all of this up to a “bad candidate”.

The adviser, who cited internal polling numbers to make the case, e-mails that, “There’s more to the story than that. If Martha is guilty of taking the race for granted, so is the White House and the DNC.”

The national Democrats are blaming Coakley.

Before the DNC and DSCC got involved there was barely a single piece of paper on what the narrative is on Brown. The candidate in this race and the campaign have been involved in the worst case of political malpractice in memory and they aren’t going to be able to spin themselves out of this with a memo full of lies.

The absolutely hilarious thing about all this is actually the last bit from the first article:

UPDATE: A White House official e-mails: “It’s a little mind-boggling to see political consultants spin the election before the election is even over. There’s only one reason to do that.”

This from the gang that couldn’t shoot straight – who began leaking that Coakley was a loser days before the polls opened.

Frankly, if Coakley were to somehow win this election, it would be perfectly wonderful if she decided to vote no on ObamaCare after the way the Emerald House and the Wizard of O’s merry band of munchkins have treated her while the race was still on.

The real problem with a poo-flinging party is that all of the participants get smelly.

Side note: I happen to be working with a guy who lives in Massachusetts. He came out to work on a project for a couple of days. He made sure to vote by absentee ballot since he knew he would be away from home today.

He voted for Brown.
