Because it’s the end of the world as they know it. The empty threats of Obama just a few days ago to become more confrontational degenerated today into a laughable attempt to sweet talk a deal on health care – without trying to resort to the many trial ballooned strong arm techniques floated in recent days.
“Here’s my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office,” the president said in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. “People are angry and they are frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.”
Brown defeated Coakley in the special election to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy.
With his victory, Brown becomes the 41st Republican vote in the Senate — meaning Democrats have lost the 60 seat super-majority they need in the Senate to avoid a Republican filibuster.
Obama insisted today that the Senate wait for Brown to be seated before they make any changes to its version of the health care reform legislation.
“Here’s one thing I know and I just want to make sure that this is off the table: The Senate certainly shouldn’t try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated,” the president said. “People in Massachusetts spoke. He’s got to be part of that process.”
Already with the revisionist history. Obama’s explanation is not what happened at all. The voter anger this time was something completely different. It was a visceral uprising against elitist attempts to jam something down America’s throat that the voters DO NOT WANT. To keep trying to pass something – anything – will destroy the Democrats in November.
The biggest myth of the 1994 defeat of HillaryCare is the leftist trope that the Democrat’s failure to pass the beast into law was their undoing. It wasn’t. The attempt to pass the monster bill was what did them in. The same thing just happened.
Consider for a moment the dogs that did not bark. The insurance industry was very quiet. The drug companies were very quiet.
Do you really think they were rooting for the victory of ObamaCare out of the goodness of their hearts and their goodwill toward Americans?
Or were they silenced by visions of the huge – really huge – amounts of income from all those lovely new indentured servants the Democrats promised them?
Try to pass anything this year and watch the next round of backlash become truly biblical, Democrats. You have been playing with fire and you have been well and truly scorched as a result. Keep playing and there will be no ObamaCare burn ward big enough or good enough to save you.
You have no safe seats. Remember that. You have no safe seats anymore.

VOTE Dammmit
Look for Democrats to say they get the message, promise to change their evil ways, while they nevertheless continue to make dirty backroom deals to push the same hard leftist agenda voters rejected in Massachusetts, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Mr Transparency is out to con the local yokels again, it’s what he does, it’s all he’s ever done, and it’s all he can do.
