No, it probably isn’t. But the title of the post occurred to me as I was reading the news that Air America, the leftist answer to right wing talk radio has been taken off life support and is finally dead. (Although a zombie version airing reruns will continue for a few more days. Then silence.)
Air America, the progressive talk radio network, said Thursday that it would cease broadcasting immediately, bowing to what it called a “very difficult economic environment.”
“It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business,” the chair of Air America Media, Charlie Kireker, said in a memorandum.
Juxtapose this tidbit with the victory of Scott Brown in Massachusetts and you should be able to see why the post title came to mind.
The fact is that the major media as a whole leans far to the left.
And they are failing.
Talk radio, using little AM stations for the most part, is quite popular.
The New York Times is sliding into failure (which will accelerate if they do begin charging for online content) while Fox News appears to be growing its audience despite the downturn.
There’s a message in all this. I rather doubt that most of the major media can comprehend it, however. But if an avowed leftist media outlet has failed completely, it does not bode well for the frauds that pretend to be even-handed while really being far to the left. I suspect that they would be okay if they simply played it straight and were honest dealers in journalism rather than little more than a collective house organ for the left.
You’ve got the who picture right. Indeed, the AA demise coincides with the happy news of Pelosi calling off the beagles chasing the HealthCare fox and also the SCOTUS rendering free speech free again for ALL wave lengths on the political spectrum!

May this AirAmerica dissolution be the overture to scaling back cable TV MSNBC’s vitriolic espousals of class hatred and plain & simple prevarication by the likes of Keith Olbermann and former AA DJ Maddow. Because all she does is spin & all KO does is lie out of both sides of his mouth when he isn’t BSing straight ahead. His “Special Comments” rank as verbal fecal material when he isn’t simply telling lies. A potty mouth smartass who loses viewers daily to those he condescendingly considers his inferiors. One word describes such a specimen: “delusional.”
