He’s On Track To Get 50%

Of his latest soundbite:

Obama Would ‘Rather Be Really Good One-Term President’

“I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president,” he told ABC’s “World News” anchor Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview today.

Obama sat down with Sawyer two days before he will deliver a State of the Union speech to a joint session of Congress, and he acknowledged the political setbacks of his first year in office.

The State of the Union will be Obama’s chance to jump start his agenda, but he ducked when Sawyer asked if he could guarantee there would not be a tax increase for anyone making less than $250,000.

“I can guarantee that the worst thing we could do would be to raise taxes when the economy is still this weak,” he replied.

Translation: Taxes are going up. Not just for those filthy “rich” kids, either. The Emerald House released the new, wonderful initiatives the Wizard plans to gift to the middle class in his beneficence. What isn’t mentioned is how he intends to pay for the brilliant wonderfulness. Three words, folks: Spend and tax.

All that delicious “free” stuff has to be paid for in the real world. Only in the “deep thinking” of the mendacious, maladroit munchkins of the Emerald House is there no cost for all the largess.

As I titled the post, the Wizard of 0 is well and truly on track to get 50% of his wish. You should be able to work out which half.

This is a really disturbing quote. First off, that “mediocre two-term president” is obviously a cheap dog whistle to all the bien pensant. Gee, got anyone in mind, there fella? No, of course not.

But it’s oblique enough that who gives two whatevers about that, except that it is example #6,487.

What is genuinely frightening here is that I will take him at face value about what he says – that if 80% of the American public is screaming in his ear that we do not want what he is selling, he will prefer to do “the right thing” rather than get re-elected. And what is “the right thing” to a Jeremiah Wright loving, Bill Ayers befriending, Chavez-Ahdamenjiad worshiping, proto-Marxist, intellectual leftist community activist?

I’m always amazed by the ‘transference’ on the left, their ability to be what they condemn, to do what they are outraged by, and how much of what they say can be directed back at them. How many people talked and talked about “the decades needed to undo the damage caused by George W. Bush”?

Yeah. I get it now. Conceptually, at least.

Obama’s first year performance fails to meet the mediocre standard

Zero’s always whining about the mess he inherited. It’s nothing compared to the mess he’s going to leave behind after his first and only term. ropelight is correct, he’s got a long way to go to mediocre.
