Wow. What breathtaking arrogance.
Rep. Marion Berry, D-Ark., fears that these midterm elections are going to go the way of the 1994 midterms, when Democrats lost control of the House after a failed health care reform effort.
But, Berry told the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, the White House does not share his concerns.
“They just don’t seem to give it any credibility at all,” Berry said. “They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.”
Via Memeorandum.
Given his track record in Copenhagen (twice), Massachusetts and a whole lot of other self-congratulatory grandstanding that fell flat or made things worse, I bet a lot of Democrats are strapping on life vests. and climbing up on the rails.
Berry appears to have been smart enough to see that an ego that big isn’t really worried about the likes of Marion Berry. Or able to see anything it chooses not to.

I would imagine that “you’ve got me” statement isn’t going to sit very well with a certain Secretary of State and her hubby.
Consider the following scenarios. They are likely far fetched, but this is just a mental exercise. Bear with me.
1) Imagine the dems are annihilated in November. They are left with maybe 150 in the House and 49 in the Senate.
2) Or this, Obama is diagnosed as having a mental disorder.
In either case, do the dems suddenly produce compelling evidence that 0bama is not a US citizen and in the interests of “maintaining the integrity of the Constitution’ have him removed from office?
I am thinking the media would run interference for them saying something like, “What a shame he is not a citizen. While he had a rough year it would have been all unicorns and rainbows if he had been able to serve out his term but we have to respect the rules.’
Yeah I know. Unlikely. But I can’t help but wonder if there are dems looking for a way out of the disaster 0bama is leading them to. Are there any other ways pragmatic dems can stop the blinkered 0bama and his one track mind?
Interesting concept, I think unlikely, however.
Besides, think of what that would leave in office.
Done shuddering yet?
Yeah. The horror of a Biden presidency is the conventional wisdom, but I can’t help but think that Biden has an instinct for political self-preservation, and that would make him more malleable. I suspect that a President Biden would have backed off health care long before now. Or maybe not.
