Quid Pro Bribe

Simply stunning, bald-faced bribery:

The 11 House Democrats led by Rep. Bart Stupak who dropped their opposition to health care reform legislation mere hours before the final vote have requested $3.4 billion in earmarks — and one watchdog group wants to know whether the money represents business as usual or political payoffs.

The Sunlight Foundation says it plans to track the earmark requests, which were put in one day after health care reform cleared Congress, to see whether they’re approved and whether it appears lawmakers are being rewarded for their vote.

Nice ethics. Must be the pro-life “values” of these folks are available to the highest bidder.

Dante would have needed a very special circle for these guys. All it took was the worthless word of a man who routinely lies, an even more worthless piece of paper with no legal standing and a cool $3.4 billion to secure the souls of the Stupak 11.

Maybe one of those shovel-ready projects is that new circle just for them.

But at least he’s not a baby-killer, just a whore!

Bart Stupak is in big trouble. Michigan’s 1st Congressional district is almost 94% white, with 18% Seniors. His vote for healthcare isn’t going to play well in November.

He knows it too. Last year Stupak held 2 Town Hall meetings in April, this year none are scheduled according to his official web site. I’d say that was a pretty poor showing, but that would be giving him more credit than he deserves.

Good. I hope he is unemployed very soon. He deserves it.
