Sean Trende at Real Clear Politics thinks the latest poll numbers from Democratic pollsters Democracy Corps are very, very, very bad news for the Democrats.
John Fund figures defeated Democrats might try a kamikaze run at a laundry list of their “social experiment” legislation during a lame duck session.
If, as I and a lot of other folks suspect, the Democrats are bound for a major butt-kicking in November then I predict that such a kamikaze attack would mean serious, long term damage to the Democrat brand. Perhaps severe enough to make them a fringe party with strongholds only in the east and west.
But do I think Pelosi, Reid and Obama are foolish enough to try it? Yeah, they probably are. So there are 41 Republican Senators who must vow to hold the line and block passage of any legislation right now so that a conference bill coup cannot be carried out.

We don’t need no stinkin’ vows. A formal declaration, or vow, would only give Dems and MSM a clear target, a symbol of the “obstructionist” GOP to attack.
Dems can’t run on their record of failure, and they can’t run on their policies which are destroying our nation, nor on their agenda for more of the same.
Dems have no choice but to run against the GOP, it’s all they’ve got. It would be foolish in the extreme to give them a nice, fat, target on which they can concentrate their fire.
