Nearer My God To Thee was the tune. New claims for unemployment rose again last week – to the highest level in five months:
The number of first-time filers for unemployment insurance rose to the highest level since late February last week, according to a weekly government report released Thursday.
There were 484,000 initial jobless claims filed in the week ended Aug. 7, up 2,000 from an upwardly revised 482,000 the previous week, according to the Labor Department’s weekly report.
The only bright spot in this report is that CNN did not use the word “unexpected”.
Or maybe that really isn’t a bright spot at all.
But do notice the “upwardly revised” for the previous – already bleak – numbers.
Maybe it would help if Barack Obama gave us a break, wouldn’t that be nice for a change?
He could do us all a favor at the same time he took off on another vacation, a long one, say in some exotic out-of-the-way place far from contact with the complications of modern technology, some place so far away we wouldn’t have to look at his smarmy face while he’s lying to us on TV.
He’s made himself into one of those idiot commercials they show over and over so often you can’t stand it, the ones you make a quick grab for the remote and hit the mute button too hard.
The two-faced SOB can’t be bothered to secure our borders, but he can clear the way for stealth jihadis to build themselves a monument to the 9/11 terrorists at ground zero.
Maybe Muslims will name the new mosque in honor of their patron in the White House, they could call it Barack Obama’s Monument to Islamic Terrorism.
