What bothers me is how few of the schools on the A list require economics. I would make history and economics absolutely required.

Students at elite schools are not buying an education, they are buying social networking. At a place like Harvard, ruling class children meet and form alliances with other ruling class children, thereby continuing ruling class power. Their education is irrelevant, and largely consists of women’s finishing school topics.

Don’t sell a college education short. There’s no other experience quite like it. And, it’s an example of getting out of it, what you put into it.

Party, network, or take fluff courses and that’s what you’ll be good at come graduation. But, think, study, and learn how to learn and that golden college experience will serve you exceedingly well for a lifetime.

    Caveat emptor, in spades.

If you want a degree, go to the university. If you want an education, go to the library.
