At some point tomorrow, I will probably be upgrading the site to the latest version of WordPress and will probably begin updating the theme, etc. (Depends on if the existing theme works or causes problems with the new updates and whether or not I feel like fighting with software after several weeks of fighting kid-induced malware on several computers.)
I’d appreciate it if readers could report problems they have via comments. (Assuming comments work after the updates, of course!) If you are NOT having problems, I’d also appreciate a comment saying so – which will validate that comments are working. I will post following any updates to inform everyone that the deed is done.
BTW, all of my posting is now being done using Ubuntu 10.10 running on a laptop that dual boots Windows XP. (I’m not using the XP very much on this computer these days, given the recent infestation.) If you have not tried this release of Ubuntu, you should. It is a mature system that is pretty close to as easy to use as Windows. It still has some issues with some printers, particularly networked wireless printers, but it is very, very solid in all other respects. Earlier versions of Ubuntu had me fighting with wireless adapters to the point of “screw this!” This time, the drivers were ready and waiting and work even better than the Windows drivers (I can “see” my neighbor’s networks using Ubuntu but can’t in Windows – in fact, I could send a print command to one of their printers, since I can see it on the network connections.)
