So, Rahm Emanuel got kicked off the ballot for the Chicago mayoral race.
Rahm Emanuel was thrown off the ballot for mayor of Chicago Monday by an appellate court panel. But Emanuel — who has led the other candidates in fund-raising and in public opinion polls — cautioned he won’t get off the ballot without a fight.
Sadly, Chicago and Illinois politics being what they are, I rather suspect the decision will be overturned rather rapidly. But wouldn’t you love to have been in the room when Rahm got the news? When things are going well for Rahm, he is known for swearing like a sailor. One can only presume he takes it to a new level when things are not going well.
One guesses that it was almost art today.
But, any differing thoughts from readers? Anyone think the decision will stick?

Re will the decision stick?
Good question Gaius. Rahm says he will appeal to Illinois Supreme Court while he gets an injunction to remain on the ballot.
If it ends up in the hands of the Illinois Supreme Court, will they dither until after the election? My guess is they will uphold the apellate court decision but I have no argument to back up that up.
When Rahm announced his candidacy, I thought the fix was in. Perhaps it isn’t?

Will the decision stick? I think a big stick will be used to overturn this decision. I wouldn’t say that Rahm has powerful friends in high places, but supporters, associates, people who agree he should be assisted in this–them he’s got.
