Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes?

Who will guard the guards themselves? A kidnapping victim has been found.

In the garage of a veteran New York Police Department detective.

A 17-year veteran of the New York Police Department has been suspended without pay after a kidnapping victim was found tied up in his garage.

The New York Post reports Ondre Johnson, a detective with the Brooklyn north gang unit, was being questioned in connection with the incident and was forced to surrender his gun and badge.

The Post article has this tidbit:

Sources said Internal Affairs is troubled that the alleged crimes occurred in a cop’s home and that Johnson may hang out with people who are on parole or have rap sheets.

The NYPD has had some bad actors lately. Maybe Bloomberg should worry about his own police instead of going after large soft drinks.
