Democrats were ecstatic when Romney chose Paul Ryan. They gloated abut how the seniors would fear Ryan and his plan for Medicare.
Among seniors, though, the numbers are even better for Ryan: 50 percent favorable and 35 percent unfavorable. Fully one-third of seniors say they have a strongly favorable view of the Wisconsin congressman, while one-quarter have a strongly unfavorable view.
Romney-Ryan appear to be winning the senior vote by a significant margin. And the more Ryan talks, I suspect, those numbers will increase. Add to that the fact that the majority of polls are structurally tilted toward oversampling democrats and I think the favorables might be even higher than this poll indicates.
I don’t think they’ll actually do it, but I would love to see Romney-Ryan go to visit a stadium near a certain convention. I’d bet on an overwhelmingly good reception.
