Over one trillion dollars. Again.
With three weeks still to go in the fiscal year, the federal government already has notched its fourth straight trillion-dollar deficit, the Congressional Budget Office said Monday.
CBO, which releases estimates each month, said the government ran a $192 billion deficit in August, putting the federal government $1.17 trillion in arrears for fiscal 2012, which ends Sept. 30.
The $192 billion deficit was the worst August on record, though the total deficit so far this year is actually lower than it was in 2011, when it stood at $1.23 trillion after 11 months.
Head in the game, people. This kind of spending is ruining us, our children and our grandchildren. We cannot go on like this. We are allowing America to be destroyed. We can do better.
Today I received a letter in the mail (yes, the mail still operates). It was from a small business in a nearby town, inviting me to come to their going out of business sale. Yet another casualty of 0bamanomics, there’s another small business that won’t be hiring and will, in fact, be letting go of its employees. Another hit to the local tax base, more lost revenues for the state and federal governments.
We can’t go on like this.
