That Sinking Feeling

What a great idea! A boat hatch below the waterline.

A Port Authority patrol boat worth $500,000 has sunk after a police sergeant reportedly followed the advice of a civilian safety instructor and opened a hatch while the boat was on the water.

Eight police officers and three civilians had to swim to safety after the thoughtless decision saw the craft sink 300 yards from the shore at Breezy Point in Queens, New York.

So, we put the hatch here. What could go wrong? Up next, screen doors for submarines!

Where do you uncover this stuff? LOL

Thank goodness the safety instructor was there! Just imagined what could have happened without them?

I notice the Port Authority sergeant is being disciplined, while there is no word on “safety” “instructor” (my God there are not enough quotation marks in the world for this story!!!!!). Maybe they will give him a raise.

    I predict a promotion in Bloomberg’s paradise.
