After Jonathan Karl profiled the prolific presidential loser on “World News” Tuesday night, Teddy Roosevelt, the bobbleheaded Washington Nationals’ mascot, managed a historical victory in today’s President’s Race — breaking away from the field to capture his first win in seven seasons.
The victory snaps a long losing streak for the unfortunate mascot, who had never, before today’s game against the Phillies, won in the mascot race against other presidents from Mt. Rushmore. (If you’ve never seen it, people in cartoonish costumes of the presidents chase each other around the perimeter of the baseball field, to the delight of fans.)
Draw your own conclusions as to what it portends.
