Email gaius [AT]: comments(add the numeral ‘1’ after the ‘s’ without a space) – [AT] – bluecrabboulevard – [DOT] – com (You should be able to figure that out unless you’re a spambot. I will warn you that I very seldom check email these days as I am far too busy at work lately. Heck, I have a hard time even posting lately, time is so short.
Important Note: Mail containing attachments will be deleted unopened unless you contact me first to tell me you are sending it. Period. No exceptions. There are simply too many viruses and trojans these days for me to risk this. If you want to send something, tell me first. Easy enough.
There is a boxtrapper on the email. This means that your first attempt to send an email will result in a return email that you must answer. If you do, you will be cleared to email. If you don’t, I’ll never read your email – it will not reach me.
About the author:
Although my degree is actually in Mathematics, I have worked for many years now as an Engineer in the utility field. I’ve designed modifications to both Nuclear and Fossil generating plants. I’ve also been a manager of engineers. (Which closely resembles cat herding). I am married to a wonderful woman and have four children. My oldest boy served two tours of duty in Iraq. He is now out of the Army.
My children, one still a minor, read this blog. So can other children, anywhere in the world, at any time. I’m not particularly squeamish about language, but I will NOT allow seriously foul language or extremely nasty comments. If you think that’s unreasonable – tough. Go elsewhere and rant about how I’m oppressing you. Just don’t bother trying it here.
Comments allowed in do not constitute approval or agreement with any point in the comment. Nor does it obligate me to debate you or address any points you raise. In addition, the comment section is for readers to post comments about the blog post or the topic of the post. Stay on topic or your comment may not be allowed in. Exceptions may be made in a completely arbitrary and capricious fashion. If you want to post an off-topic essay, it would probably be more productive for you to get your own blog.
One other thing, I am not obligated to allow you to post comments here. When and if you start paying for this bandwidth, we’ll talk. Until then, if I think you’re being a jerk, I won’t allow your comment. There is no appeal. If I nuke your comment it will be for what I feel is a good reason.Once nuked, the comment cannot be recovered.
This is very, very simple folks. Keep a civil tongue in your head (or type in a civil fashion) or I will simply nuke your comment. Abuse other people and you’re out of here. Calling the host names is not a good way to ensure your comment will see the light of day, so to speak.
If I believe that you are either a paid or unpaid flak for someone or something, I will not allow the comment. If I think you are merely repeating some talking point (and yes, I can see the same, exact verbiage on other blog comments) I will delete the comment. If I catch a sockpuppet, I ban them on general principle. Yes, this can be arbitrary and capricious. Deal with it.
Comments are moderated – it may take a while for your comment to be approved and posted. ALL IP addresses are logged – by several different methods. Your email address will not be published with your comment. I reserve the right to reject any comment if you use a phony email address. This site is not a democracy and you don’t get a vote.
Several people no longer comment here because they abused the above requirements. Some have had their IP addresses blocked, in fact. I will edit minor infractions, I will nuke major ones. Because of the insane amount of comment spam, some legitimate comments get caught by the antispam software (it happens to my own comments at times). If you think I deleted your comment (or the A/S software killed it) wrongly, send an email.
